Wright-Hennepin Cooperative Electric Association (WH) is committed to helping its commercial, industrial, and agricultural customers invest in energy-efficient electric technologies through its Commercial Rebate and Energy-Saving Programs. These programs offer financial incentives to encourage businesses to make energy-saving upgrades, ultimately reducing energy consumption and lowering costs.

Commercial Rebates

WH provides rebate incentives for various applications, including lighting, HVAC, and motor-control systems. These incentives are available for electric-related applications that reduce energy consumption, helping businesses save money on their energy bills. To ensure eligibility for rebate funding, it’s recommended to obtain project pre-approval from a WH commercial account representative.

Lighting Efficiency Rebate Program

Upgrading lighting systems is one of the most cost-effective ways for businesses to reduce energy usage and associated costs. WH’s lighting efficiency rebate program offers incentives for implementing higher-efficiency lighting systems, with potential benefits including increased energy savings, improved employee productivity, and reduced space-cooling loads.

HVAC Efficiency Rebate Program

WH offers rebate incentives for the installation of high-efficiency rooftop units (RTU), split-system units, ground source heat pumps (GSHP), PTAC, VAV, and chillers. These incentives aim to encourage businesses to invest in energy-efficient HVAC systems, reducing energy consumption and lowering operating costs.

Other Rebate Eligible Technologies

In addition to lighting and HVAC systems, WH provides efficiency incentives for various applications, including commercial EV charging systems, variable speed/frequency motor drives, high-efficiency ventilation systems, fractional HP motors, dairy production facilities, commercial kitchen equipment, compressed air systems, and facility recommissioning projects.

Commercial Energy-Saving Programs

WH’s Energy-Saving Programs offer additional opportunities for businesses to reduce their electric bills. Participation in these programs is subject to approval by WH and can provide significant savings for eligible members.

– Dual Fuel Heating Program: Ideal for commercial spaces that require heating and cooling, Dual Fuel Heating allows for automatic, non-electric secondary heating when the primary electric heating system is interrupted. Participants receive a discounted electric rate for all electric space heating usage.

– Ground Source Heat Pump Program: Participants in this program qualify for an “energy-only” non-controlled electric rate for ground source heat pump systems that are metered separately from other building electric loads.

– Water Heating Program: Participants install a water heating system with sufficient water storage to maintain hot water during peak periods when electrical supply is interrupted. Participants receive a discounted electric rate for all water heating usage.
