Major Savings with Potomac Edison’s Limited-Time Energy Efficiency Incentives

For a limited time, Potomac Edison is offering enhanced rebates through its Energy Solutions for Business Program to help commercial and industrial customers accelerate energy efficiency projects. These increased incentives are available from June 1 through November 26, 2025 or until funds are fully committed and provide an excellent opportunity to lower energy costs while modernizing your facility.

Whether you’re a small business or a large industrial operation, the current Potomac Edison rebates make it easier than ever to implement impactful lighting upgrades and custom energy solutions. Here’s what’s new and how your business can benefit.

Enhanced Custom Incentives for Deeper Energy Savings

Custom projects are receiving a significant boost under this limited-time offer. Potomac Edison has raised its custom incentive rate from $0.28 to $0.38 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) saved. This means higher financial returns for businesses tackling energy-saving projects like compressed air system improvements, process upgrades, and advanced building controls.

Eligible custom improvements include:

  • Building shell upgrades
  • Electrical and mechanical retrofits
  • Installation of building energy management systems
  • LEED-certified renovations or additions
  • Projects involving multiple, interactive building systems

Note that newly constructed buildings or major renovations that require full code compliance do not qualify. The focus is on energy-efficient upgrades to existing structures that deliver measurable reductions in energy demand.

Double Incentives on Lighting Upgrades

Lighting upgrades are a common and highly effective way to cut energy use. Potomac Edison is currently offering 2x the standard incentives on prescriptive lighting measures. That includes everything from interior troffers and flat panels to high/low bay fixtures, display lighting, stairwell lights, and even exterior luminaires.

For example:

  • A 2×4 LED troffer, normally eligible for an $80 rebate, now qualifies for $160
  • High bay fixtures with 40,000+ lumens can earn up to $800 per unit
  • Stairwell luminaires have increased from $85 to $170 each

The program also provides rebates for LED retrofit kits, ENERGY STAR fixtures, signage lighting, and advanced lighting controls, which can offer up to $0.28 per kWh saved for optimization measures.

Small Business Benefits and Financing Options

Small businesses have even more reason to act. Under the enhanced offer, incentives can now cover up to 80% of installed project costs, significantly reducing upfront financial barriers. Combined with the available low-interest financing through Optimus, it’s possible to start a project now and pay over time.

Key financing features include:

  • Loan amounts from $2,500 to $250,000
  • Interest rates ranging from 0% to 2.99%
  • Incentives paid after project completion

This makes comprehensive upgrades, including both lighting and custom energy solutions, financially feasible for businesses of any size.

Apply Before November 26, 2025

To take advantage of Potomac Edison rebates under this limited-time offer, all projects must be pre-approved by November 26, 2025. As funding is limited, early application is strongly recommended.

If your business is considering lighting upgrades or custom energy improvements, now is the time to act. These enhanced incentives won’t last, the potential energy savings and cost reductions can be substantial.
